Welcome to Poplar Farm Rescue Kennels, we are a "no kill" sanctuary for unwanted and problem dogs, run, staffed and funded entirely by a team of about 40 volunteers and supporters . We currently have about 70 dogs in our care and welcome genuine offers of help, both practical and financial. More local foster homes particularly welcome. Please take a look around, visit our chat forum for an insight into our work and if you would like to help then please do drop us an email.

Dogs adopted from here will generally have had a full veterinary check, vaccinations, treatment for parasites, neutering and will have been assessed in order to best find them a suitable home. There is no charge for this work, we merely hope for a voluntary donation to help us meet our costs which is likely to be between £120 - £150 without food and kennelling, for an uncomplicated dog, some will run up substantial vets bills but will still be treated regardless of cost, some will remain here for life and we endeavour to make their lives as happy as possible.

If you want us to take in your dog please read......

There are a number of very compelling reasons why we need to reduce the numbers of dogs here asap and certainly by the onset of winter. Whilst we will always take back any dog re-homed from here, regrettably we have taken the decision to suspend all new intake until further notice.

However we will try to help with training, socialisation and re-homing direct from your home. You, as the owner, must be prepared to neuter, vaccinate and deal with any health issues before re-homing and we will require a detailed description and photo of your dog. We cannot generally do more than one home visit for assessment and training and we might require you to bring the dog here or to training sessions at Haddenham, on a regular basis. Any dogs re-homed in this way will have our full lifetime support just as if they had come directly from our kennels.

Dogs can be listed free of charge in the Homes wanted section on our PFK forum  and also on similar, but larger, forums such as
