Tara

“In January 2004 our dear Poppy, a pointer was killed in a road accident. Her loss was unimaginable but it shows how dog lovers seem (on the face of it at least) to feel sorry for themselves as I immediately asked the Vet where I could offer a dog a home. Poplar Farm was the first name mentioned so an arranged visit was made to Sutton Gault where we were greeted by lots of lovely dogs …… from the throng emerged Rachel and Dave who immediately offered a warm welcome.

The choice of dogs looking for a home was considerable but as I looked around I saw a light brown pair of ears peering over one of the pens and they belonged to Tara. She had been rescued  by some people in Kilkenny from a miserable existence and was very nervous.

After a house check Tara came to her new home where she immediately carried out an inspection to ensure it was up to standard.

These days “Would you like to go for a walkie” is replaced with “Would?....” …. and that’s all it takes!!! She loves other dogs and has several boy admirers with whom she flirts!!

Tara is the most wonderful dog, offering unconditional love for a little bit of kindness …. Thanks Rachel and Dave for the chance.

 Graham Jones (Ely)”
