Bella

My family rehomed “Cherry”  a Lab x Setter, who is now called Bella. We were lucky to have Bella before Christmas last year 2004 she was a gift for the family. We had just lost my father and we felt that Bella could be the thing we were missing in our life at that moment. And how true was that! She bounced into our lives and now we can’t see life before she was here.

Bella came into the family as if she had been with us forever, her foster family loved her and you could tell that she had been looked after and loved and we wanted to carry this love on.

Walking Bella at first was arm wrenching as she was so excited to go for walks that she pulled the whole way. After a month we thought we would walk Bella along the river near us off the lead. “mmmmm” Bella thought she could walk on water while chasing ducks we did find out that day that Bella could swim!  It was snowing and cold but good old Bella she wanted to carry on with the walk. When we take her to the woods she can really fly yes fly she is the only dog I know that fly’s.

Bella is a good dog when we take her out she nearly always comes back when we call her unless she is busy chasing Rabbits, Squirrels,  Bumble Bees, or other moving things. Bella had a bad accident before Easter she was up the woods with Stuart Bella went running off and did not come back when Stuart called her. This worried him so he went looking for her, then Bella came hobbling back to Stuart, he thought she had hurt her leg, but then noticed that she had a hole in her chest. Bella had impaled herself on a branch. Stuart called me at work and we rushed her to the vet. She was so good she really must have been in pain. After an x-ray and a drain being put in she was allowed home. The vet said the branch had gone in 12 inch into her chest but luckily missed all vital organs.

A week later we took Bella to Suffolk for a holiday. She loved it we took her to the beach and on long walks she was so funny on the beach it was like watching a little child running around.

Bella is one of our family and brings laughter and mayhem into our lives. We will keep you informed on how she is doing later in the year.

Love Trudy Stuart Becka Joe and not forgetting Bella x
