Help for Houdi

We are appealing for funds to help with the cost of Houdi's treatment.
This lad has had a hell of a time (read more by clicking on Houdi's Story
and Houdi Part 2 on the left of this page)
Houdi was found at the side of the road by
the tip in Peterborough with a badly shattered front leg. Local
large rescues had advised to put Houdi to
sleep or at best amputate the leg but it was felt that in such an
attractive, young and otherwise healthy dog that it would be
better to try and save the leg if possible……………..that’s where we
came in, and where we would like to ask you for your help.
When
Houdi was found and taken to the March Branch of our vet he needed
x-rays which were kindly paid by the dog warden service, he also needed
antibiotics and the leg was dressed and he was hospitalized. Once he
was stabilized he was then transferred to the Wisbech branch where there
was a specialist orthopaedic vet.
The
breakdown of cost's is:

still waiting for the
bill for surgery costs. The veterinary surgeon and one of the
nurses kindly gave their time free of charge.
Houdi then went back to March for hospitalisation and recovery |

hospitalisation, medication, bandages etc. £ 330 |

Chatteris Branch
|
|
£ 350 for follow
ups, medication, bandage change etc. This is on going being our
local surgery |

Further surgery (removal of the pin) and x-rays is scheduled in the
Spring or as soon as Houdi is ready. We estimate these costs will be
£200 plus.
|
This may
have been an expensive procedure but it needs to be remembered that Houdi
is now walking around on 4 legs and is showing great promise for a
complete recovery. Considering how badly 'smashed' the leg was, the
vets have performed a miracle!
