Please don’t think this is only a problem for the Lurcher owner, ALL
breeds are at risk.. Please be aware and take the security of you dog very
seriously, it may not come back in one piece. Micro chipping wont stop
your dog being stolen but it greatly improves your chances of getting it
back, dogs have been reunited with their owners years after they first
went missing. A microchip may also prevent your much loved pet being
destroyed in a dog pound when the thieves abandon it. The same can be said
of a tattoo, it may be old technology but more dogs are recovered via
their tattoo than by a microchip and if you are in a high risk situation
then Kaye's advice would be to do both.
“Please be careful out there”
